SIAMS
We are an 'EXCELLENT' Church of England School
All Saints' is a Church of England School - it seeks to be distinctively Christian yet inclusive of people of all faiths and none.
We are delighted to be able to share the outcome of our recent SIAMS (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools) inspection, held on 9th March 2023. The inspector met with parents, children across school, governors and a range of school leaders. He looked at lots of information on our website and policies and documents in school and especially enjoyed looking at RE books with the children. Although it is a Church school inspection, it looks at the overall provision in school – the curriculum, our work on personal development of children, support and inclusion for all and many other aspects of learning in our school. Pulling all of that information together, he awarded us the following outcomes:
Overall grade – Excellent
The impact of collective worship – Excellent
It is worth highlighting that this grade is extremely rare, so we are beyond delighted that the inspector was able to see what is so special about our school. We hope that you will take time to read the report as it celebrates so much of what we as a whole school community – parents, children and staff – aspire to for all.

All Church schools receive ‘Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools’ (SIAMS) inspections, approximately every 5 years.
Inspections recognise that Church schools come in all different shapes and sizes, serving different communities. Therefore, the most recent SIAMS Framework (2023) does not present schools with lists of criteria to meet. Instead, it asks a number of Inspection Questions about impact, allowing leaders to explain the school’s context and the reasons for decisions and actions. SIAMS inspectors will seek to explore the following questions with schools:
1. Who are we as a school?
2. What are we doing here?
3. How, then, shall we live and learn together?
Question 3 is explored under the following inspection questions (IQs):
- IQ1: How does the school’s theologically rooted Christian vision enable pupils and adults to flourish?
- IQ2: How does the curriculum reflect the school’s theologically rooted Christian vision?
- IQ3: How is daily collective worship enabling pupils and adults to flourish spiritually?
- IQ4: How does the school’s theologically rooted Christian vision create a culture in which pupils and adults are treated well?
- IQ5: How does the school’s theologically rooted Christian vision create an active culture of justice and responsibility?
- IQ6: Is the religious education curriculum effective?
Having evaluated the evidence made available for each of the six IQs, the inspector will make one of the following judgements:
J1 The inspection findings indicate that the school is living up to its foundation as a Church school and is enabling pupils and adults to flourish.
J2 The inspection findings indicate that the school has strengths, but that there are also issues that leaders need to address as a matter of priority.
(These judgements differ from those we received in March 2023; the revised framework was implemented in September 2023).
We work hard to meet the needs of our community, ensuring that our ethos (not only our approach to collective worship) is 'Inclusive, Invitational and Inspiring'. We have a SIAMS governors committee, led by Sharon, the Vicar at All Saints’ Church, and including other foundation governors, who meet every term. It is their role to understand and monitor our Christian Distinctiveness, feeding back at every Full Governing Body meeting. The collaborative working between these governors and school ensures that our Christian distinctiveness is continually evolving.
