Day of the African Child

Day of the African Child 2023
Year 4 had an amazing time on 16th June celebrating the Day of the African Child. They travelled to St Joseph's, Whitnash where nearly 500 children from all the other One World Link schools gathered for the day of African themed workshops. The visiting teachers from Bo, including our own Link School teacher, Elizabeth Allie, performed a special song they had written for the event. Even the weather was African, reaching 30 degrees  by the afternoon and the children had such a great time!

Day of the African Child – 16th June 2022

Every year on June 16th we celebrate the International Day of the African Child. This year every class at All Saints joined in the workshops online. Part of this event involves taking part in the Send My Friend to School Campaign. This year we made Issue trees and sent them to our MP, Matt Western – calling on our government to support better education for all and more support for training teachers in countries like Sierra Leone.

Here’s a link to the DAC Welcome Assembly presentation where you will see lots of images explaining the work of our school in leading the Bo Link Schools with this exciting part of Global citizenship:

Here you can see Mr Jacob’s class celebrating in June 2021. They dressed up in the colours of the Sierra Leone flag (green/white/blue) to join in with the Zoom event:

The Day of the African Child 2014 was another memorable day celebrating our links with Sierra Leone. Children from local school schools gathered at St Patrick's in Leamington Spa for a day of cultural exploration.
