Visits and Visitors

Visits and Visitors

At All Saints’ we welcome a wide variety of people to come and share about their religious or secular beliefs and practices. These visitors regularly contribute to our RE as well as our Collective Worship assemblies. They offer a wonderful opportunity for our children to ask their own questions and to refine their questioning skills. We are continually building on our network of excellent speakers and places to visit to enhance the learning experience for our curious learners. We believe it is important for children to make connections between their classroom learning experiences and the lives of real people. We try to compliment each theme with a visit (or a virtual visit) from a relevant person or an off-site trip to consolidate and inspire.

Year 4 Trip to the Gurdwara Temple
Year 4 had a lovely visit to the Gurdwara to kickstart our RE topic of Sikhism. We learnt all about the history of Sikhism and the different Gurus. We had the opportunity to visit the prayer room and view the sacred book. Finally, we sampled some Indian sweets and completed some sketches of objects we had seen during our tour.

Baptist Pastor Visit
In RE today year 4 were very pleased to welcome a visitor- Rev. Kevin Johnson from Castle Hill Baptist Church in Warwick. He explained to them all about his role as a Church leader. There's never a dull day - he meets lots of people and is very busy! The children then had to fill in a diary schedule which they filled with the information they had learnt,  making time for meals and fun too of course!
Shree Krishna Mandir - Hindu Temple
On Monday 17th October, Year 3 visited the Shree Krishna Mandir in Leamington. Children listened about the history of the Mandir, a brief summary about each of the deities, asked questions and were given some time to sketch a deity. At the end of the trip, the children were offered a piece of fruit. Throughout the trip, Year 3 were thoughtful and respectful.
